  • that the role of the Journey Teacher is to assist the Client with improving the quality of my life. The Client understands that their Journey Teacher will be honest and straightforward, and will use challenging techniques to move them forward. If the teaching is not working as they wish, the Client should let the teacher know immediately so steps are taken to correct the problem. The Teacher will refer the Client to appropriate resources in the event that issues are encountered that require psycho-therapeutic involvement.
  • that Journey Teaching is comprehensive, addressing almost all areas of their life: purpose, emotional identity, work, relationships. They acknowledge that they hold sole responsibility for choosing how to address these elements in their life.
  • that Journey Teaching is for people who are already basically happy, well adjusted and emotionally healthy or are presently in therapy with a therapist and understand that this does NOT substitute professional therapy.

However, confidentiality will not apply when it is necessary to protect the Client or others from harm. If your Teacher has information that indicates that a child or elderly or disabled person is being abused, they must report that to legal authorities. If a client is an imminent risk to him/herself or makes threats of imminent violence against another, The Teacher is required to take protective action. Although these situations are rare in Journey Teaching situations, if it does occur, the Teacher will make every effort to discuss it with the Client before taking action. It is also possible that certain topics discussed could be reviewed by other professional Journey Life Teacher and Life Coaches for training and development purposes.

If the Client has anything in their past history indicating that they have an unresolved emotional or physical problem or a mental illness, the Client certifies that they are not using Journey Teaching as a substitute for assistance from a trained mental health professional or a medical doctor.
  • The Client WILL NOT use Journey Teaching as a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care or substance abuse treatment.
  • If the Client is currently in therapy or under the care of a mental health professional. the Client will have consulted with that person regarding the advisability of their working with a Journey Teacher. Additionally, the Client will inform the Journey Teacher of this relationship.
  • The Client WILL NOT use Journey Teaching in lieu of professional medical advice, legal counsel, accounting assistance, business consultation, or spiritual advice, and for each of these areas the Client understands that they should consult the appropriate professionals. The Client acknowledge that they will not use Journey Teaching as a substitute for such professional guidance and further acknowledge that decisions on dealing with these issues lie exclusively with me.
  • The Client agrees to complete regular evaluations of the Journey Teaching process and notify me immediately of any concerns.
